Solve For X

Hey everyone! Err...hey, the one person who reads this blog (i.e. its author)! Well aaanyway, I'm starting this little zone for posts with a mathematical (read: boring) twinge. I don't mean equations and functions and integrals and all that jazz. I'm talking about everyday stuff with a computational element: mortgages, spending, gambling, counting on fingers. I won't be offering much advice, because--let's face it--I don't know what I'm doing, much less what I'm talking about. Instead, these posts will be data-based observations. Kinda like bird-watching, except with numbers.
